After the success of the previous two Beat Fighter event, LookUP are back with our good friends at Dust Tones with the third installment of Beat Fighter. Once again, we’ll be showcasing different ways of making beats, with some masters of their craft present to demonstrate - including PSYKEone from Bingethinkers on crazy jazz flute hip hop mashups, Hutch from Kobra Kai with a live electronic drum kit demonstration, DJ BAKU from Japan with some experimental turntablism on display plus oldschool legend Rival on the beatbox/Kaos pad combination. In addition to the showcase, there will be a chance for you to get your beats played to the audience in a “pseudo-battle”, with the winner walking away with $100.

If you want to enter the battle, you need to register before it starts. There are only 20 spots available so you’ll need to get in quick - you will receive a confirmation e-mail if you are one of the first 20 beatmakers to register.
You can register online by filling out your details below:

You must register prior to the night to enter the competition.

All entrants must submit one audio CD of three tracks by 8:30pm sharp. Each track must be less than 80 seconds in length. Each entrant will be critiqued by a panel of judges on the night - taking into consideration skill, originality and the audience reaction.
To enter the Loft Bar, head to Broadway (near Central station), opposite the Clare Hotel there is an optical shop. Next to this shop there is a passageway that leads to the Loft Bar. Here is a map:

Whilst not a traditional “battle” - each beatmaker will be scored against each other with the winner taking home the prize. It is advisable to bring a backup CD in case your original one breaks! No track is to be longer than 80 seconds, if it is, only the first 80 seconds will be played. Both beats will be played back-to-back in the same order they appear on the CD. The host will announce each beatmakers name and have a quick chat before playing their beats, and encourage audience appraisal of your beats. The entrants will be split into separate rounds, with each round winner’s beats being played again at the conclusion of the night before a champion is announced.

JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL
